São Paulo School of Judges Seminar on Humor and Free Speech

As part of the online course ‘The Internet and Freedom of Expression‘ hosted by the São Paulo School of Judges in collaboration with Columbia Global Freedom of Expression, ForHum co-funder Alberto Godioli and judge of São Paulo Court of Justice Tom Alexandre Brandão will discuss how the Brazilian Courts and Courts around the world approach the intersection of humor and freedom of expression. Particular attention will be paid to the following topics: satire, defamation and other dignitary harms; disparaging humor and hate speech; humor, violence and public unrest; parody, copyright and trademarks; humor and “public morals”.
